Antibacterial Activity
Green Up Antibacterial Cleaning
The problem of bacteria resistance to antibiotics is growing and getting worse. It is known that today there are strains of bacteria that have developed resistance to most of the antibiotic agents through an evolutionary process. Antibacterial Green Up products give an efficient answer to the wide range destruction of bacteria.
The products are ecological and not dangerous to humans or the environment. Their use is simple and effective.
The bacteria cell is surrounded by a lattice which protects the contents. Without this protective covering called the sacculus the bacteria cannot survive and disintegrate. Green Up products which attach to this covering dissolve it since it is made of a fatty substance and thus kill the bacteria.
Green Up products are effective against a wide range of different viruses and bacteria. Using Green Up products provides effective and safe cleaning and disinfecting. It is effective against a wide range of micro organisms including Gram positive/negative bacteria, pathogenic food related bacteria, yeasts and fungi.
These products are not dangerous for people and not hurt the environment.
Determination of the Bactericidal Activity of Green Up when tested Against MRSA, Salmonella typhimurium & Listeria monocytogenes using the European Standard Test method BS EN 1276:1997.
Interpretation of the Results
When tested against Salmonella typhimurium (ATCC 14028), Listeria monocytogenes (ATCC 7644, and Methicillin resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA, ATCC 43300) with a 5 minute contact time the product produced greater than a 5 log10 reduction in viable counts.
Conclusion
According to EN 1276:1997 Green UP possesses bactericidal activity in 5 minutes at ambient temperature (23-25oC) under clean conditions (0.3g/l bovine albumin) and dirty conditions (3g/l bovine albumin) for the three bacteria under tests, Salmonella typhimurium (ATCC 14028), Listeria monocytogenes (ATCC 7644) and Methicillin resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA, ATCC 43300).
